The right to comment

Most of Chinese people use Wechat, a social communication APP like Twitter, to share information and comments on news. Every one has a social net composed by friends, colleagues or relatives.

When living in China, we were easily get angry at scandals and pointed out some foolish policies in education or other infrastructure. We didn't have a total freedom to say anything, but our generation like comments, although most of times, they turned to be complains rather than real actions.

Now we are abroad and we have more access to information, thus more freedom to express our opinions. It's strange that we controlled our engagement and atomatically censor negative comments, especially on politic issues. Obviously, it's the demon of jalousie that makes our position embarrassed. We don't want to show off. People inside of China will say that since we are living abroad, we now have no responsability and can just do paper talk. The solidarity did not exist any more. They even think that we became their ennemy.
Theses days, in the net, my friends commented a lot on the differences between Chinese education and American education. Admittedly, the traditional way of our education for little kids should be changed. But many of parents showed their frustration and added that they could do noting except going abroad. I was eager to say something, but I remebered that last time, my comments resaulted in an indifference from others and made some ones more angry at their actual life. I don't want to reminder other that they are suffering. So I turned to be less active in the net.

It's a pity. I just want to say, even living in China, we can do much more to change the wrong situations. But I can imagine the rebuke : What did you do ? Did't you seek to go abroad instead of engage yourself in making changes ?
